Practice being present.
We need all of the things: laughter, escape, focus, sweat, purpose, mystery, growth, novelty, belief, connection…
A well-rounded life includes a broad range of experiences. Embodiment is part of that recipe. Get grounded. Recapture your attention. Connect to your sense of agency and personal power.
An embodiment session is a place to pause and reconnect. It’s a kind of somatic hygiene: a chance to unplug from the internal and external chatter of life (worries, rumination, overwhelm) and be present. From there, we return to life’s activities with more clarity, flexibility, and capacity.
What is embodiment?
Embodiment is a broad term with many meanings. It’s deeply intersectional. On my Resources page, I provide links to some of my favorite folks who talk about embodiment in different ways.
For our purposes, embodiment is the awareness of physical sensation. Embodiment work is experiential and somatic in nature. It connects us to what we’re experiencing right now. It’s present moment work.
What are 1:1 sessions like?
In my brand of embodiment work, we focus on awareness. Our primary activity is the work of noticing, observing, and witnessing. You will be seated or lying down, depending on your preference. We will focus on the body, gently unbracing some of the places where you hold tension: the face, the shoulders, the jaw. Every body is different. I will lead you through a guided process in real time. This is:
A 30-minute embodiment practice
A place to practice feeling, sensing, and noticing
An opportunity for connection, co-regulation, and awareness
Our sessions are virtual. You will receive a meeting link when you book your appointment.
My practice has changed.
Since 2022, I’ve offered coaching inspired by my book, Trust Yourself with Money. I helped my clients relate to their financial circumstances and decision-making with honesty, compassion, and awareness. We did the scary work of adding up numbers—“What is my monthly budget? How much do I actually owe?”—and facing fears. Somatic work was woven into my approach. I was not a financial planner or a financial advisor: I called myself a somatic money coach to capture the breadth and depth of our work. (Visit my testimonials page.) Today, the embodiment practices that supported that work are front and center. I’m offering one-on-one sessions with a new focus.
